How gin is made ?
Gin is an distilled sprit , as the name says it is an distilled drink which means first it's fermented and then distilled . But what is the whole process?
Put the main ingredients
First take all the ingredients like juniper berries , flowers , dry fruits , water and yeast . All these things gets mashed into the vessels . Distilleries has to make sure that all these things are well mixed so that they can go under next process.
Fermentation
After first process second process is fermentation in which all the mixed ingridents goes under fermentation process with the help of yeast which is being added in the first step. In this process a simple Alcohol is produced named as ethanol.
Straining
After the fermentation process the mixture is being strained so that the alcoholic liquid can go under distillation process . Rest of the other thing gets discarded and liquid is used for distillation.
Distillation
Distillation is the process in which liquid is heated and vaporised , then the vaporised liquid is recondensed and changed into the liquid . By distilling Gin we simply increase the alcoholic level of Gin. Gin makers do distillation according to them some does the distillation once or twice and others does the distillation many times to increase it's alcoholic level. Herbs is also added in the Gin between the distillation process or prior to the process. So, that Gin can get it's taste of herbs for which Gin is famous.
Dilution
Once the Gin is being produced alcoholic level of drink is tested and if the Gin is more alcoholic then it is being diluted so that ABV gets to its normal.
Bottling
Final step is bottling . Once the Gin is being produced it is bottled and gets ready to be shipped.
